Chapter 14: Stepping On A Tigress' Tail ~ Gwen ~ The garden near the mass comm building was one of the quieter corners of RavenBane College, and I had claimed a cement bench there early enough that nobody else had taken it yet. My laptop was open, the reporter's club assignment staring back at me, and I was in the middle of trying to figure out what story was actually worth telling in a town where half the population could shift into wolves and apparently considered that a Thursday.

ALPHA CONAN After Gwen woke up… I stayed by Gwen’s side until her tears finally stopped. Her breathing grew steady, and her grip on my arm loosened. I lowered her carefully on the bed and pulled the blanket over her, watching her face until I was sure she had fallen into sleep. Only then did I stand and leave the room, though my chest ached with every step away from her. Alpha Oren was waiting for me in the hallway. He gestured toward his office and said quietly, “We need to talk.”

At that second, looking into those green eyes, Gwen decided not to think anymore. She tossed her arms around Finn's neck and pulled him against her, claiming his mouth with hers and and losing herself in the feel of him. Finn was caught off guard, but it didn't take too long for him to act. Clearing his mind of whatever they had left unfinished, Finn passed his arm around her waist and brought her body closer to his, as if that was possible. It was like they wanted to end any distance that could still exist between them. Gwen's fingers grabbed his hair, pulling it gently, and that only stirred him more. Gwen, caught off guard by Aiden's sudden aggression, dodges the blow instantly and lets out another devilish smile. “Is that all you've got Aiden!” She mocked at the same time, letting out a smirk from the left corner of her lips while her eyes glowed black, ready for a fight. Aiden stood his ground just as his own eyes blazed with determination. "You won't harm anyone else, Gwen. Not my pack, not my family. Your reign of terror ends here.” Gwen's limbs twisted and contorted, meanwhile, her fingers lengthened into wicked claws as she moved with the speed of a storm, unleashing spells and curses that danced like lightning around Aiden.

I just want to thank everyone who has come with me on this fluff/adventure/romance of a journey. Although not my first novel, it is one of my first straight-pairings and although I feared Gwen would either be too whiny or hyper, I am glad to see some people enjoyed her personality. I wanted to make her dependable by the end of the book, so I hope I pulled that off. Although I won't be getting to the sequel right away, I do plan to write one for this book. It'll focus on Gwen's twin sons, so please keep an eye out for that in the future!
