Gwen, the proud councilwoman from Shadowclaw, was bound to a chair, her face twisted in pain and defiance. From the shadows, a figure emerged—Vendetta, her dark eyes gleaming with cruel amusement. Gwen’s breath hitched, but her defiance didn’t waver. As Vendetta stepped closer, Gwen spat at her feet, her voice hoarse but filled with fire. “The Shadowclaw pack will come for you,” she growled. “For all of you.”

“Hah!” I shift and glance at Aderyn uneasily. This might take a while. Aderyn croaks loudly then spreads its wings and flaps hard to gain the witch’s attention. “Day is almost upon us, so let me speak briefly. Gwen’s blood is, as you have noticed, wolf and witch. She has come to prove herself a witch and me her familiar. Do you accept?” The haggard women all stop talking long enough to listen before they all whisper to themselves. Even with my werewolf hearing, I can’t tell what they are saying.

Gwen's POV The frantic echo of footsteps approached rapidly, and my vision blurred as I began to lose consciousness. My breathing was shallow, and the last thing I could discern was a figure bending over me. “Luna, open your eyes!” a voice shouted urgently. It wasn’t Ryker’s voice; it was someone else. I forced my eyelids open and saw the gamma kneeling beside me. I didn’t know his name, but he was one of the pack’s most feared gammas. How did he find me here?

She stood in a dress of wrapped coral, curled and swooped off her shoulder like a wave, her brown hair tumbling down the other side on her bare shimmering skin. Her large black eyes scrunched a little as she smiled at the men behind me. "You can call me Gwen." I looked at my mates, giving them a sheepish smile as they glared at me. "In my defence, I didn't know it was her." Dane rolled his eyes, Xavier placing his gun over his shoulder and rose a brow.

“She fought some warriors, and next she’s offered a title and a place in the pack?!” It seemed they had been discussing my invite before I walked in. My heart hammered, pounding away in my chest but outwardly, I tried to appear calm. I remained silent while Alpha Tristan spoke up. “Sit down, Gwen,” Gwen. So this was the lady Guinevere… acting Luna of Silver Moon pack. My eyes sized her up again as she scoffed and sat down. She was obviously against the idea but respected the Alphas. Interesting. “I don’t like it,” Lady Gwen shook her head, annoyed. “She’s the daughter of another Pack’s alpha! She could be a spy for all we know. It’s ridiculous she’s even being considered for the position—”

The green Hobgoblin said, watching as Xolvion took a step back. "Whatever, let's finish them off!" The yellow Hobgoblin said, quickly charging towards Gwen as he made her his target. Gwen and Owen didn't stand a chance against these monsters, that Xolvion knew. However, Crystal was more than a match, he only hoped that she would be able to tap into her power and prove it. "ARGHH!" Gwen screamed as the yellow Hobgoblin charged towards her, lifting his sword as it got ready to strike her down.

"If you need me for anything at all, I'll be at the quarters," she added, and Maya gave her a nod, and closed her eyes again. Gwen turned to leave when the door opened, and Grey strode in. "Good morning, alpha," Gwen curtsied, and at the mention of alpha, Maya opened her eyes.
