From the side, Ben’s brows furrowed as he was grilling the meat. He could not comprehend the scene before him. He was Xena’s boyfriend, not Fane. Why was she never this considerate with him? "Gwene, how are you doing in all honesty?" Gwen found a seat for herself and sat down on one of the chairs that was available. She massaged her eyes, shook her head, and propped her chin on her folded palms while placing her elbows on the table. She did this while leaning forward at the table. "Not good. I have no desire to be at this particular spot. I have no interest in pursuing a conjugal partnership with Noah at this time. The question that was raised was, "Is it really that vampire?" After turning off the sink's water supply, Greta walked over to the chair that was directly across from Gwen and sat down. Ben snorted and continued to kiss the woman. Gwen raised her brow while continuing to hide in the room underneath the staircase. She was amazed that even when Ben is with a new girlfriend, he still could not resist cheating on her. Some people never changed. Finally, Ben and the woman were done after ten minutes. Ben put his pants on and frowned, "Soon, this place is going to be mine."

He turned his neck and stared at the backseat. "What are you thinking about?" He asked. "Ben is taking Gwen out on Saturday. I know he's going to use her" "You said you never cared about her" Wilson said. "I don't care about her but, I'm touched by her story. I'm not going to let Ben lay a finger on her" he said.

Everything felt connected, like invisible strings pulling me back into a life I thought I had left behind. I felt sick. “Are you okay?” Alex whispered close to my ear, concern lacing his voice. He must have felt me trembling. I nodded weakly, but I wasn’t. Not really. He's trying to say something to me, his eyes fill with desperation, but I can't make anything out. His essence turns to a cloud of white smoke and trails from the bed and into the purplish jar in Gwen's hand. "What did you do?" I round her. "Give him back." "Ghost lovers?" She snorts. "Really, Brene, I didn't realize you were that desperate. No wonder you couldn't keep your human boyfriend. I'd have dumped you too." I clench my fists, wanting to punch her. My insides quiver at the thought of never seeing Ben again. Or Kiarr. Oh god, does she have him too? She said, lovers. I feel the blood draining from my face.

Ben exclaimed happily as he strode out of his house, despite the nickname he used to call Gale. He was so tired, he really needed a shower and then sleep before doing anything but that was proved to be impossible because by the time Ben reached him with a toothy grin plastered across his face; Gale was suddenly engulfed in a tight embrace, and he couldn't help but laugh and hugs his cousin back.

Gwen’s bedroom smells like vanilla candles and the faint citrus of her perfume. We’re sprawled on her bed like we used to when we were sixteen—legs tangled under a throw blanket, fairy lights glowing soft above the headboard. Snow has started again outside, tapping the window like impatient fingers. Gwen’s propped on pillows, phone in hand, scrolling through old photos of CK while she talks a mile a minute.

Dylan started biting his nails, still pacing, "I'm so nervous." Archie flashed a smile and then stood up, walking away from the table. "You know what makes me calm down?" he asked, already approaching Dylan. "What?" Dylan turned around. "This!" Archie kissed him suddenly. Dylan hugged him, returning the kiss intensely. The door was opened. Dylan's father coughed when he saw them kissing. Dylan and Archie backed away from each other, both of them quite flustered. Arthur closed the door. "So..." He walked towards the table, "What is this letter that Helena left?" he asked as he pulled out a chair.
