My father was slumped in a chair, his face pale and gaunt, dark rings under his eyes. He looked weak—frail—nothing like the proud, formidable man I grew up with. Lucas’s voice came through the video, smooth and mocking.

“This means the world to me.” He smiled back, and for a moment, all the worries of my confused feelings about my father faded into the background. “Always here for you, Rochelle. That’s what friends are for.” I shot him a look and asked, “Just friends?”

"There isn't anything there now, is there?" he narrowed his eyes in suspicion.

I instantly pulled away from the duvet as I turned the volume of the tv louder . “He choose me and he always does , I am not going to feel guilty because I’m with the man that I love , if you are not comfortable with any of this , then you can as well go kill yourske , because I do not care “ When she finished talking , my father had that proud look on his face . I have never seen him look this proud ever and it just makes me think that he was standing beside my best friend and ripping my heart apart . I hated him , I hated him with everything that I had left in me , why did he have to do this , just why .

I asked nervously when his face lit up and he embraced me to him with a smile on his face. "There is nothing else I would want more than this thing, my daughter." dad replies kissing on my forehead " I will leave you alone to get ready." he begins to leave when I stopped dad. " Hey, dad. Please don't tell me that since you are Zach's best friend, you are his man too?" I asked when dad only grinned making me groan while everyone in the room laugh.

I scoff. "It's not babysitting" Evans chimes in walking closer. Okay, I don't know how the hell I got close to the Bond's brothers again, I know I lost contact with them forever.
