She was telling me something. It was like she was reciting a script. “I hope I don’t have to tell you that if you tell anyone about me, your loved ones will pay.”

I kept my face in a cool mask of indifference as she continued, the spear that was still in my shoulder burning hotly. “Have you forgotten so soon Beast? What got you here in the first place? You are a copy of your father! A brutish beast who can never love any-” Ma Jules spewed before I wrenched her head back, snapping it messily from her neck just as I felt her spine break under my foot and the body crumple to the gritty floor. I sighed heavily, howling a guttural dirge of exhausted victory as the full moon’s energy caressed the fur of my Alpha.

With one final, ear-piercing roar, the beast collapsed, its body dissolving into black smoke that dissipated into the air.
