Timotheus snatched the Bible from Ferran’s hand and opened it as if he was so familiar with the book. “John 3:16… John 3:16…” Timotheus opened the Bible and saw the highlighted verse. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” He read. “What about the numbers 17, 18, 19, 20, 21?” Czaquira asked. “Maybe the words?” Timotheus was confused for a while.

He felt for an instant like a modern-day Moses. As Amorth read the words on the tablet, he felt surprised. He had expected the cruciform key to be a map, or a complex series of directions, perhaps even encoded. The cruciform key, however, bore the simplest of inscriptions. Amorth was stunned with the devilish simplicity. The secret location of what they sought was revealed in a Bible verse? Although he did not recall the exact contents of the verse by heart, he knew what it translates to. He thought, barely able to contain his excitement.

I stepped closer and looked into it. I saw myself sitting in the back of a black Rolls-Royce. This wasn't me, it was Zevaris. The car was moving through the streets. Zevaris was leaning back in the seat with a smile on his face. Then golden symbols began to appear on the windows. They spread across the glass, glowing brightly as they carved themselves into the surface. The ceiling of the car lit up. The doors, the roof, even the floor beneath his feet, all of it was covered in ancient markings.

Chelsa slid the papers back into the folder, handing them back to me, and stood up. "You know, angels. I just sit silent beside him while he drives into town. My phone dings with an incoming text. It's from Nick, asking if I'm okay. I quickly text back. [I'm fine.
