Her fingers traced slow, absent circles across his skin; her breath was still unsteady, but her voice came soft, almost childlike.
“Daddy...” she whispered into his ear.
Maurice blinked, startled but unable to suppress the helpless smile tugging at his lips.
“Daddy?” he echoed, raising a brow at her.
“Yes,” she murmured, eyes half-closed as she nestled even closer. “From now on, I’ll call you Daddy. Because in my heart, you’re my real daddy.”
Maurice let out a low chuckle, though it was tinged with something deeper. “You do realize I’m only thirty-two, right? There’s no way I could have fathered a twenty-two-year-old big girl like you .”
