The beast took another eerily silent step towards him— causing his body to betray him further as he began to try harder to curl into himself and away from the beast. "Hrmmmm...WHY DIDN'T YOU DINE ON YOUR KILL?....grrrrRRR!" The beast yelled at him in a questioning manner. He thought the question over before answering, trying to be careful in what he said. "I'm not an animal-- not a wild one at least....it felt...erhm...wrong. Taboo." He said shakily as he put his head up to face at least the beasts legs. "Hmm...I think yoU're JuSt scarrrEd to embRrrace what you arrrrrre...grrrr.."

A world without monsters. And yet, I had brought her into this one. I closed my eyes and took a slow breath. But then… something snapped inside me. Suddenly, my heart started beating too fast. My blood began to boil. My chest was burning. My head was pounding. No. Not now. Not here. I stood up quickly. I looked at my hands. They were shaking. I felt it. The beast. It was waking up. My vision went dark. My eyes turned completely black. Even the whites were gone. Just black. All black.

As he grinned, his white, utterly hairless face stretched like rubber. As one skeletal guard closed the door, another readied the chair at the end of the table. The pale man sat. He did not remove his hat. As Mother wiped her face with her napkin, Father cleared his throat. “Welcome, Mr. Cillian. I am Benjamin Blackwood. This is my wife Elizabeth—” He paused, for the skeletal creatures were marching over to stand behind his and Mother’s chairs. “Do continue,” said Mr. Cillian. His voice was excessively nasal. “Don’t mind the Reapers. They’re friendly, that’s all.”

Her previous vulnerability changed into hatred. As those words left Sasha's mouth, David barked a laugh, shaking his head. For some reason, he found it really funny. God knows why this guy laughs so much and at things which don't seem at all funny. This man is super weird. How can he laugh at this situation? "Who is Shelly?" Dean spoke out of nowhere. "She is someone who we killed. The poor girl was pregnant," David replied with a smug look on his face. "Did you really think I would work with monsters like you? I work for the cops. I came here just to get the name of the person who paid you all to kill my sister," Sasha screeched.

Alec is standing just outside behind him on a call. Satan bear and I stare at each other for a while before Alec steps back into the room. “ Oh your up, how are you feeling?” “Horrendous” I answer and demonic bear is still staring at me without speaking. His face devoid of emotion. After a very long and awkward silence, he goes to speak. “Why did you run?” His eyes focused on me and I could have sworn his eyes had been black before. They looked chocolate brown with a hint of green to them, an emotion flashing in them but is gone before it registered.

“Hand her over, Blackwood. This doesn’t have to get messy.” Damien’s lips curled into a cold, humorless smile. “Oh, it’s already messy the moment you decided to interrupt us,” he hissed, his voice like velvet dipped in venom. “And it’s about to get a lot messier.” Before the man could react, Damien moved. He was a blur of darkness, his movements too fast for the human eye to follow. In an instant, he had the man by the throat, lifting him off the ground as if he weighed nothing. The intruder’s feet kicked uselessly in the air, his hands clawing at Damien’s iron grip.

I pulled him into my arms, holding him near to me, hiding my face in the curve of his neck as I tried to slow down my heart, which was beating fast. He is safe. He is here. But the dream. No. The nightmare. Even till now, I could still smell the burning wood and feel the pack house shaking under my feet. I could still hear the distant screams, the sound of wolves falling one by one under the attack of something that is unnatural. And then her. Zaira Blackthorn. A name I did not recognize. A face carved into my memory like a curse, long black robes that billowed like smoke, eyes silver and bottomless, her voice a lullaby soaked in poison.

He took a slow breath and let it out. "She was good," he said. "I mean actually good. Not the performance of it but she was." He paused. "I met her when I was twenty-five and she worked in a bookstore on the west side. It was a small place and she reorganized the whole crime fiction section so that all the mob books were spine out." He stopped and almost smiled. "Said she was tired of glorifying men who hurt people." Bella laughed softly. "I like her already."

he ordered, practically throwing me toward the pack, but, judging by the look on his face, even he knew it was useless. “Here!” I let out a scream from the depths of my lungs the instant I saw the chimera move toward Noah’s. “I’m here!” Even though my blood was cold, I kept screaming until the creature turned toward me, its mouth foaming as it rushed to attack me, turning its back to Noah. Which meant she never saw the enormous black wolf coming, sinking its fangs into the rotting flesh. “On your left, Noah!” I yelled when I saw the thing raise its claws to strike Noah’s wolf form. He unfortunately wasn’t quick enough to avoid being hit completely, but at least the blow that could have sever

“And it smells… beautiful.” Kaerith’s teeth pressed together as her hands clenched into fists in her lap, forcing a trembling breath out. Even as Rhazien spoke, Kaerith felt something far worse watching from beyond the dark. She felt a pulse. A hunger. It wasn’t Rhazien. It was the other one—the one they called the Beast. His shadow stretched across the chamber as he stood, his armor creaking. “To the court,” he snapped. The Woundmaidens seized Kaerith’s chain and dragged her toward the door, through the twisting tunnels of Murnokh, past rusted gates and bone lanterns.
