I allowed the darkness to envelop me and seep into every pore of my being. "On it!" Ever shouted as he ran out the door. I headed in the opposite direction. Reaching the room I'd temporarily occupied before moving into the treehouse, I tore through the closet, changing into military-style wear, cargo pants, a tight but flexible T-shirt and boots, all in black. I didn't bother with any other clothing. My comfort was irrelevant, and sleep wasn't on the agenda until I found Hycinth. Strapping several knives across my chest and holstering a Glock around my thigh, I hauled ass down to the armory. My Wolf considered the weapons unimportant. He would deal out destruction using his teeth and claws.

I lift one of the slats of the blinds high enough to peep through, and my heart halts. The same three figures in dark clothing standing still on the sidewalk outside my apartment building. Knives. Long, curved knives that glimmer with an unnatural silver light. I can even see from where I am standing that the air around the weapons appears to ripple like heat waves, as though the metal itself is aflame. Silver daggers. Just like the ones described in Dr. Blackwood's work. Weapons created to specifically kill werewolves. "Oh God," I mutter, slamming the blinds shut. "Oh God, oh God, oh God."

Five people to sneak into the heart of the enemy. They gathered in a smaller cave that served as an armory. It wasn't filled with swords and shields, but with tools of subtle war. Ronan traded his crystal-tipped spear for a wicked-looking knife made of black, volcanic glass, its edge so sharp it seemed to cut the light. He checked the tension of a powerful, compact crossbow, its bolts tipped with a paralytic toxin derived from a desert scorpion.

There was scar tissue there which looked like it had not been allowed to heal properly. "Don't you care if he gets an infection?" I wondered, looking at the open wounds. Hearing my voice, the alpha's eyes opened as he moved slightly into the eyes. His eyes glowed with the ocean blue color as his eyes darted from Dr. Dawson to my scared eyes. He suddenly bared his teeth and growled low into the back of his throat, it was a warning sound that made me flinch, but I was aware so I didn't take the step behind Dr. Dawson like I dearly wanted to.

The air crackled with anticipation as the battlefield became our shared hunting ground. Without warning, Zack lunged at me with a lightning-fast speed, his claws extended to rend and tear. Instinctively, I dodged his attack, my agility matching his own. We moved in a deadly dance, our bodies twisting and turning, each strike and parry filled with lethal intent. I swiped at Zack with my powerful claws, but he countered with a swift dodge, retaliating with a series of ferocious bites. The clash of our fangs and the sound of our growls echoed through the night, blending with the wind that whispered through the trees.

Well that explains the peace and quiet. Before I could even respond, he went on. “The warriors captured twenty rogues. They were caught with strange weapons at the border. We lost some of our men to them.” Everything inside me switched instantly. Frustration, heartbreak, confusion. All of it shut off and the Alpha in me rose up like someone flipped a switch. “What weapons,” I asked, voice low but sharp enough to cut metal. Kingsley shook his head. “Nothing we have ever seen. Silver modified with something else. Whatever it is, it sliced through our warriors like they were trainees.”

Kalen selected an exotic sword, a pair of blue star exotic daggers, 2 rapid-fire automatic pistols, a Lawgiver 2-form gun and exotic armor. “I am ready for this mission,” he thought excitedly after he selected all the pieces of equipment he wanted. “Is this what it feels like to be a badass,” his expression slowly morphed into a grin. “Let’s do this!” The exotic sword had a blueish color to it. It had a lightning attribute to it. Kalen would give his enemies a little jolt of electric when he strikes them.

It covered the entire floor and it was almost built like a bunker except that none of the men could actually fit in there. The weapons in it were numerous and unbelievably diverse. A section of the safe contained daggers sheathed in handsomely made leather sheaths with the name Dark Storm emblazoned on the black leather. There were swords with finely hammered gilded hilts, and finely carved bows and arrows, some were bronze and others were wood. A small cupboard contained a small collection of grenades, there were throwing stars, spears, and even 2 shields. In another compartment was a collection of crossbows and oddly enough, rattan sticks.

I just shook my head and listened to the lady’s introduction of the second weapon. "Meat Cleaver, na may napakagandang mekanikal na istraktura. Maaari itong mabago, na ginagawang madali itong dalhin.
