Even the wind stilled, as though the very earth held its breath.
Before us rose an ancient forest, gnarled and twisted. The trees were blackened, bark like scorched bone, their branches curling toward the sky like clawed fingers. The sun above dimmed, veiled by a thick, unnatural mist that hovered over the earth like rot.
At the edge of it all stood the cave, Iskareth Hollow.
