“Why are you just standing there? Zeus—why are you—”
I stopped in front of him.
And up close, I could see it.
The blood.
Not just on his hands. Not just staining his clothes.
On Aofie.
“No…” My knees almost gave out, but I grabbed onto Zeus’s arm to steady myself, my fingers digging into him hard enough to hurt. “No, he’s—he’s okay, right? He’s just unconscious. He’s—he’s fine.”
Zeus didn’t answer.
