“What can’t be tonight?”
Aurora turned slowly to face them and her expression was grave.
“Look outside,” she said quietly.
Everyone turned toward the shattered windows.
The moon was rising over the tree line and it was massive, easily three times its normal size, and it was red.
Someone moved to the window and everyone heard Jessica’s sharp intake of breath.
Blood red, the color of fresh blood.
“Blood moon,” Jessica breathed, and her voice was shaking. “It’s a blood moon.”
“Oh no,” Jessica whispered. “Oh no no no, this is bad, this is really bad—”
