I felt happy but deep inside I was always sad. I wasn't able to sleep that night. I kept turning around. The dream I used to have come back. This time I saw his face. His blue eyes sparkled. It had always been him. Mike. He even conquered me in my dreams. He never left me alone. Then, suddenly I was lost in darkness. Pitch black darkness everywhere I looked. But suddenly a beautiful woman came near me. She was dressed in white. Her hair was white as well. She hugged me. She comforted me. "Don't be afraid my child. I am the moon goddess. You are never alone. He is your world." she spoke. A knock on the door woke me up. It was my mom who came to wake me up.

“Let me help you.” He slid a hand to the small of Maxton’s back, steady and sure, guiding him down until he lay floating on the water’s surface. The moon’s glow kissed every line of Maxton’s face, scattering across his body like silver fire. Arms spread, legs drifting, Maxton surrendered to the lake. The world stilled. And then he felt it. The pull. The moon tugged at his very core, a thrumming power that jolted through his head like lightning. Images crashed into him.

All of them were the living memory of what this pack is. The space between the moons. She had read about it in the first notebook, the first year Ivory Voss was in the territory. When he drops his hand again, he opens his eyes and they are a milky grey colour. The glow disappears from the sky and in the darkness a full moon rises. Not just any moon. I recognize this moon. So pale, so clear, it appears as if behind a layer of ice. The first full moon of the new year. The Wolf Moon.

The air was thick with the pull of the lunar cycle, a force so powerful that the earth seemed to pulse beneath it. Arianna stood at the window of her room, her fingers firmly brushing the cool glass. Drawn to the moon since childhood, she felt its silent dance across the night sky beckoning to her. The howl of wolves echoed through the valley below, sending a shiver down her spine. The sound was all too familiar, but tonight, it felt sharper, more intense.
