Blue nodded. "Very much." Mrs. Emily clutched her chest dramatically. "Ohh, now you're going to make your old grandmother cry." That earned the smallest laugh from Blue. "I want to go see the golden fish in the backyard," she said and rushed off. Mrs. Emily chuckled softly. "Alright... alright... go on then. Miss Suzy is there." Blue hurried off without another word. The moment she disappeared, Mrs. Emily's smile faded. Her eyes lifted to Rosina.

She closed her eyes and started murmuring, witches murmur, but you never hear them. The place got warm, and the breeze started twirling around. She rolled her hands, taking all the air and turning it into a blue ball. Then she spread her arms and the ball spread around, lightning up the place. We watched as the blue thing passed through everyone, going outside. We looked outside, and it felt like a fairytale dream as the blue light passed and the sky cleared, becoming so bright and shining.

She flips it open and blinks. “These are nursery rhymes.” “From the Veil-bordering settlements. Passed down for centuries.” Her eyes scan the page. One rhyme reads: When the bramble sighs and bones do creak, Don’t stray from paths, don’t dare to speak. Eyes may glitter, mouths may grin, But speak their name and let them in.
