Leif pressed his fingers against his forehead but couldn’t quite get a grip on it. He sighed again and pointed at another unidentifiable lump. “What about this one?” Raina touched her chin thoughtfully, then suddenly raised her right index finger and said, “Oh, that? That’s seasoning—ginger!” Leif finally caught on. She had just tossed a whole chunk of ginger right into the pot and boiled it down into that weird shape.
