Such a fun chapter!! Chapter 11 - Colton Hastings doesn't get jealous. ~~~ Café Day was a small coffee and cupcake shop that sold reasonable yet extremely delicious creamy and unhealthy food. It was exactly what anyone would need on a hot Sunday morning. Starbucks was just a few blocks away from it, still, Café Day was never short of customers. The majority of students preferred Café Day due to its not-so-soaring-the-sky rates. Plus they rarely wrote the names on the cups wrong.

The server returned and explained, “This order was placed by phone and has been paid for in full. But the person who ordered it hasn’t arrived yet. How about you move to another table? According to my coworker, this table has been reserved.” With a heavy heart, we moved to another table that was near the first one. Then, we started ordering food. While waiting for our food to arrive, I took a new book from the shelf. It had been a long time since I had visited the cafe, and it turned out that they had an extensive collection of new books. I noticed a black cat with mismatched eyes walk by me, looking at me while it paced past. I smiled at it and then went inside the cafe. The bell jingled when I opened the door but barely anyone looked at me. The room was well lit and had a cozy feel to it. A few customers were sitting there even though the streets were pretty much empty. The cafe had three floors. First floor was for customers who simply wanted to enjoy their drink and some light pastries. The second floor had shelves of books,placed in a manner of division, forming a small easy maze with soft chairs that allowed the customers to enjoy their time while drinking and reading in silence.

A row of old cafés, a bookstore with dusty windows, a small flower shop tucked between them. Noah blinked at the street, awe flickering in his eyes. “Where are we?” “A place with no expectations,” I said simply. The bookstore bell chimed as we stepped in, the air thick with the scent of paper and ink. Noah drifted between shelves like he belonged here, fingertips brushing spines reverently. He moved slower than most people, as if every book was a treasure to be uncovered. I leaned against a shelf, arms folded, and just watched. This was Noah outside of fear, outside of obligation.

I nodded and looked up the name, once got to the checkout stand, finding it rather quickly then did the whole check out process for reserved books before putting in a bag for her. "Have a nice day. Enjoy the new book" I said smiling at her, she thanked me but was still standing here. I got more nervous the longer she stayed staring at me. "Ma'am, do you need something else? We have a coffee shop that sells delicious drinks and sweets. I always grab a few before I leave" I said which wasn't a lie. I always got at least a drink and cookie at end of my shift before cuddling in for the night in my car. I looked over at the clock and saw I still had about an hour left of my shift.

Noah’s voice came out soft, almost a whisper, but it hit me like thunder. “The Book Nook... that café near the General Library. Do you remember?” “Yes,” I said slowly, my voice barely making it past my lips. “Tomorrow. Noon,” he said. His voice shook a little, and somehow, it made my chest tighten. “Please, Elena.” Before I could say another word, the line went dead.

He ended the phone call and rushed outside. From the office floor to the second and first floor, he was not only warmly greeted by his friendly staff but was also welcomed with a busy sight. Leer is always jam packed with book and coffee lovers. Couples, adults, teens and young people can be seen in all the corners of this book cafe. Goers surely enjoy varieties of coffee, fruit drinks, pastries, cakes and snacks that are visually appetizing and undoubtedly delicious in a cozy atmosphere. It does not only offer a home-like ambiance but also pleases the eyes of those who love taking instagrammable photos. The cafe was located at a street close to her precint. As Detective Sophia entered the cafe, she noticed the warm aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafting through the air. The sound of a soft jazz tune playing in the background created a cozy ambiance. The cafe was dimly lit, with small, circular tables scattered throughout the room. The walls were decorated with rustic wooden panels, giving the cafe a vintage feel. A large chalkboard hung behind the counter, displaying the different types of coffee and snacks available. A few people were sitting at the tables, chatting and sipping their drinks, while others were typing away on their laptops.

“No wonder you wanted to stay here. I want to stay here.” She grinned. He loved books as much as she did. “Let me buy you a cup of coffee,” she said, guiding him over to the cafe portion. She ordered two cappuccinos and they took them to a small table off to the side of the bookstore. The cafe had a slow but steady stream of customers, but Holly and Nathan were far enough away that they were basically in their own little world. “I would have loved this place as a kid,” Nathan told her, settling in. He draped his jacket over the back of his chair, looking relaxed and like he belonged there.

From the soft music playing over the speakers to the end of the cafe was a shelf full of books, Café Sugar was a colourful place with the booths matching the red flooring and the designs of red and white blotches on the walls. A waitress came up to take our orders and her jaw dropped. “No freaking way! Caden Booker?!” She squealed. “Oh my God, it's my first time meeting you…” I interrupted her with a sigh. “I'd prefer it if you take our orders and not fondle over my fiance.” Her cheeks heated and she nodded softly. “I'm sorry about that, Mr. Asher.” While taking a sip of water, I shot a glare at Mark to order after I ordered a cup of cappuccino and strawberry-flavoured chocolate for Caden.
