My fingers brushed against the surface of the book, feeling the warmth radiating from its pages. But before I could pick it up, the air shifted once more.

She looked up. A woman she had never seen before. Older. Maybe seventy. White hair cut close. The posture of a woman who had once been someone significant and had never quite stopped, the particular uprightness of a person who carries themselves as if the space they occupy has always been theirs by right. She had a book in her own lap. She looked at Sophia for a moment, then looked down at it. The library was quiet. "You are running out of time," the woman said. Quietly. Without looking up. "He has decided to stay."

I focused my eyes towards the direction of the noise and sure enough, the small woman walked our frim between two large shelves. "Queen Frost." Lady Waina greeted as she walked over to me. Once she reached the table next to me, she pulled a chair out and sat down. "To what do I owe this visit, your grace?" She asked as she narrowed her cloudy eyes at me. It is obvious that the woman can't see but the way the cloudy orbs traced my covered face made me feel like she was in fact staring at me. "I came here for a book of records." Lady Waina sighed. "Of course, it's always about the books. Which book would you like?" She asked, her feature suddenly shifting to annoyance.

Ryan did not confirm nor deny it, but I could tell the truth from the guilty look in his eyes. The scorching summer day in June felt like winter to me. I held my breath in shock. The young wolf growled and ran off. “Beta woman, you can go inside. Until Beta comes here, I will guard your house, and you.” I nodded at her and went inside the house. As he had ordered me, I went straight toward the bedroom. More like, I was crawling my way upstairs. Once I was inside, I locked the door. Then I took my clothes off of my body and went straight to the bed.

The woman took the book from the desk and signed it back in the log. After that, Snow returned it to its shelf and considered finding another book. She walked toward the staircase leading to the upper hall, her eyes shimmering at how bright and beautiful the library looked. Books—rows and rows of them—all containing knowledge about themselves, other kinds, and more. She trailed her fingers along the spines of the books when her gaze landed on a particular one. “Mate Bond,” she muttered. She probably shouldn't be reading it, but her curiosity was suddenly piqued.
