Heart of the Bayou Beasts

Heart of the Bayou Beasts

I held my hands up. “Just to be clear, if you can sense the shit I'm feeling I’m sorry but I was honestly just upset because I can't hide my father's books away. I’ve been hiding them for over a decade under the floorboards in his office. The anxiety of them being out in the open is just a lot, and little things just pull up the bad stuff, things I never had moments to see as clearly as I can now, it’s just in my head. It will take me some time to work it out.”

how lost in thought I was. "Anxiety disorder is not as serious as you are imagining." she assured. "So I am not going crazy." I replied. She chuckled then said "No you are not. Now the earlier we begin your treatment, the sooner you get better." She said. "I want you to do one thing for me." She added. "Okay tell me." I said. "I want you to find out all you can about anxiety disorder." She said. I nodded in affirmation. "Do you have a smartphone?" she asked. "I don't." I replied. "I'll use the library." I quickly added. "We have a library here? " she asked in a surprised tone. "Of course. They call it the book store here. " I said. "I see. " she answered. "Okay how about you check with the

SUBMITTING TO MY BEST FRIEND'S FIANCÉ

SUBMITTING TO MY BEST FRIEND'S FIANCÉ

A sharp gasp leaves my lips. Even my breath is stuttering. I’m fucked. I chuckle slightly under my breath. I place my pen at the centre of my book division and close it, dipping my book in my bag. I can’t stay here. Today will just have to be another missed school day. Besides, students miss classes all the damn time! “Going somewhere?” Carol asks as I zip my bag. I stand up and nod. “Yeah.” I murmur. I fear if I stay here any longer with this feeling creeping at the back of my neck, I’ll pass out of anxiety.

I say, hoping it helps. “We need to figure out which books to order. It’s pointless building it if it’s going to be empty,” Jax laughs. I nod in agreement, though most of her books seem to be pure smut based on the covers and her social media. I wouldn’t know for sure since I haven’t tried reading them.

Absolutely loving this book. Not sure how I came across it, but found it and read first 15 chapters in an hour, without being able to put it down. It literally makes me LOL! Love the crazy dynamic between Demitri and Demi! Will update my post when I finish it. Hopefully end is as good as the start.

loving both books. but in the second book, the chapter Her Weirdness and A Suprise are the same and there's a chapter missing. I'm guessing A Suprise is the chapter that's a duplicate and the proper chapter is the missing one as you miss what keeley tells her. can this be made right please

The Way He Looked at Me

The Way He Looked at Me

I begin scanning titles desperately, hoping to find something useful. Maybe something like: How To Stop Embarrassing Yourself By Flirting With Straight Men. Or perhaps: Self-Control: Please, For The Love Of God. Nothing. Not even close. I feel deeply offended. There is absolutely a market for those books. I cannot possibly be the only person suffering from this very specific life crisis. Rachel drifts down the aisle behind me, pretending to browse

Spicy Lollipop: 30 different short erotica.

Spicy Lollipop: 30 different short erotica.

Oh, I forgot to introduce myself, I’m Skyler, the girl who stutters through small talk, who hides behind oversized hoodies and thick glasses because words always tangle in my throat when real people are around. It’s unbearable. But, after reading what’s on the cover of this book, I feel my hope starting to rise because this book promises to fix my problem. “Ancient incantations for confidence and connection.” The cover said. I’ve never actually been a fan of occult, but I may as well try, just this once. There are lots of people I’d like to talk to…. I want to be able to talk to the cute barista without my face burning up. Or maybe… more. I want to stand up to Selena and her minions.

Cellblock Heat

Cellblock Heat

“All you gotta do is pick up a book from the return cart by the chapel door. It’s a donation. Look for “The Fault in Our Stars.” He blinked. “The one with the crying teenagers?” “Yeah, that one.” He eyed me. “There better not be a weapon inside it.” I grinned. “Of course not. Just feelings and sodium.” ***** An hour later: Quincy returns to the cell holding the book like it’s been dipped in acid. He drops it on my bed. “There. You and your teen angst.” “Much appreciated,” I say sweetly, peeling back the cover and revealing my treasures tucked into a carved-out hole in the pages.

The Matchmaker who can see the red string of fate

The Matchmaker who can see the red string of fate

even until now. I’m used to staring into dead empty space. I sometimes can’t process what’s happening in front of me. Maybe these strings are just a lie. An illusion. A lot of things a mind can do to a person. A shadow, a disparity in the surroundings, can create ripples of hallucinations, giving birth to apprehensive thoughts. Creating unexplainable fear. Then people call you crazy for expressing your own share of anxiety. I waited. I rocked back and forth. I’m desperate to touch the book where my sketches of Kenneth are but can’t. He’s in there. He’s trapped in there. His warmth is in there. In my drawings. In my sketching. I wanna touch. I wanna hug.

ACCIDENTALLY IN MATRIMONY

ACCIDENTALLY IN MATRIMONY

"HELP! SOMEBODY GET US OUT OF HERE!" The panic in his voice was raw, primal, nothing like the controlled businessman from moments before. Cassie's training from her college psychology classes kicked in she'd written her senior thesis on anxiety disorders, though she'd never expected to use that knowledge in a stalled elevator with the most infuriating man she'd ever met. Her watch face glowed softly in the darkness. She fumbled for her phone, tapping the flashlight on, and the small space filled with harsh white light. Greyson was pressed against the corner, eyes wide with terror, chest heaving like he'd run a marathon.

HOLY HOTS

HOLY HOTS

The older lady patted her shoulder lightly while returning the smile then headed back to her business leaving Amy behind. "Where do I start from?" Confused Amelia whispered. "What kind of Christian books would be less boring?" She exhaled deeply while her fingers traced through the books on the shelf. “‘Ahaha!” exclaimed confused Amy as she picked out a book from the shelf. “What could this be about?” wondered Amy while she read the synopsis of the book in her hand. She read out in an undertone, “Filled with faith and inspiration, Break Out will challenge you to build a new prespective, let nothing hold you back…” Nodding her head in concurrence to the words she read, “ hmmmmm…. I certainly
