Books Set In New Mexico Novels & Stories

NEWT’S MIND had begun to dwell on the north for long stretches. Particularly at night, when he had nothing to do but ride slowly around and around the herd, listening to the small noises the bedded cattle made, or the sad singing of the Irishmen, he thought of the north, trying to imagine what it must be like. He had grown up with the sun shining, with mesquite and chaparral, armadillos and coyotes, Mexicans and the shallow Rio Grande. Only once had he been to a city:

state of Texas and the seat of Cameron County, located on the western Gulf Coast in South Texas adjacent to the border with Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico. I was able to return to my maternal family rental apartment long enough to pack up a seven-piece luggage set. Before taking my first plane ride, I remember going to Texas. You will never know how hard it was to pack up my whole life in two hours in only a very worn-beat-up seven-piece luggage set.

He raises a brow suspiciously at me, and I can’t help the betraying smile that splits my lips. “What were you thinking about just now, you little squirt?” Sal shifts slightly on the bed, and both our heads snap toward him. But he’s still asleep. How much longer will he sleep? **** Hi, loves. Just putting this out here. Been brewing a new book under wraps. It's an MxM book as well, but not under the mafia world… I intend it to be softer and a bit more colourful than the mafia’s boy toy. With characters I’m sure you'll love as well. Upon the completion of this book, I’ll put out its first few chapters. Hopefully you’d like it.

AXEL POV New Mexico was entirely flat and seemingly endless, a vast expanse of sun-bleached desert stretching out toward jagged mountain ranges in every direction. We had been placed in a small, dusty town called Alamogordo. Population: roughly thirty thousand. It was the absolute, perfect geographic blind spot for disappearing off the face of the earth. No high-profile international syndicates, no massive shipping ports, no historic mafia territories. Just endless horizon, military testing grounds, and blinding heat.

I suck in some of the cold air and hold it as I wade deeper, waiting for my skin to adjust to the temperature. So much has happened in such a short time frame that I’m having trouble keeping up with it all. One moment, I was rolling into Oscura, New Mexico, expecting another lame weekend eating fried food and watching football with a bunch of small-town drunks in the bar. The next minute, my entire life was turned upside down.

New Mexico The Desert Bloom Cult Compound Wyatt ‘Holt’ Gibson looked up from his book at Ice’s approach, amazed that his break from watching the compound was almost over already. As soon as he picked up a book, time just stopped for him. It had been that way since childhood, and even though it was considered a bit odd for a hardcore, hardboiled ex-bouncer and -bodyguard and current MC member to love reading, it was what it was. Holt was never without a book in hand – or at least within immediate reach – and his brothers teased him mercilessly about it, while thinking that it was actually pretty cool.
