Novel & Cerita Booktok Books That Are Movies

The books are just like I remember them, better than the movies. I read the book To All the Boys I've Loved Before and the books after that. Watched the movie after. To my surprise I really liked them. I decided to look more at the Author of those books and see what other things she wrote. I ended up reading The Summer I Turned Pretty and the books after that. Marke reaction, surprisingly good. I started reading Burn for Burn now. It's really good even though I've only read like three chapters and haven't really gotten to the good part. I started to draw way more too. I have a certain sketch book that I fill up and usually it takes about a school year. The one I got for my birthday that I ha

“The Notebook, A Walk to Remember, Inception, Interstellar, The Shawshank Redemption…” His response came back almost immediately: “Wait. THE NOTEBOOK? And Inception? And Interstellar? Okay we’re about to become best friends because those are literally my top movies.” And just like that, we had something to talk about. For the next two weeks, we texted about movies constantly. Not just surface-level stuff either. We’d analyze scenes, debate endings, talk about why certain movies made us feel things. He’d send me clips from his favorite moments. I’d send him recommendations. It felt easy. Natural. Like we’d been doing this forever.

Just a week to submission. I looked at the tickets. It had this golden shine to it that caught my attention and I didn’t recognize the title of the movie, or the actors. “First wolf-made movie. Interested?” Wolves are making movies now? “The Elemental Triad?” I read out the title. He gave a nod and picked a book from the floor. Turns out it was the book I was trying to take before I fell. I must have grabbed it, hoping it’d save me but apparently, it didn’t.

He said, not sounding convinced. I turned my back away from him to face his bedside table and grabbed a book. I read the title, ‘See You In My Dreams’. Oh, I know this! “Hey, I’ve watched a movie version of this book! I didn’t know it was based on a novel. It was a great murder mystery film. And the plot twist was amazing! Did you know that the main character—”

I got squeamish about bugs and snakes, but what's there to be scared of from a book? "I found one of his more recent books when I was shopping for new stuff; now I'm going through his back-list. I watched some of the movies based on his books, too, but I didn't know they were from his book until I saw the lists." "Hey, let me know what you think when you're done reading," he said excitedly. "I can recommend the ones l like to you if you haven't read them yet." "I'm surprised you even read," I said honestly.

A woman brings in the two plates of tiramisu then removes our dinner plates. We spend dessert talking about favorite movies. Milos hasn’t watched many of the newer ones—his mother was a lover of classic movies she watched to learn English. He shrugged, he preferred to read with what little free time he had. I find out he reads mysteries and thrillers—several I have as well. We even share a favorite author who has had several of his books made into movies. “Oh, I really want to watch the latest. I’m dying to see how they turned it into a movie. Usually the movie ruins the book for me, but somehow the movies of his books have been really good.”

We finally entered the bookstore and I let go of his arm. “A-ahm, I don’t want to huddle there” I answered sparingly. A book caught my attention and I was amazed that they are selling this book. “Gosh! My favorite series!” I get the Twilight book. Gio followed me and observed the book as well. “I’ve already watched it” He bragged. I narrowed an eye at him. “Book version is still the best. The feels and emotions are there when you’re reading it” I answered. “But the movie adaptations are easy to understand since you don’t need to use your imagination anymore,” He said frankly.

he makes a baffled expression. “Er… books are way better than movies, in books you get to experience the story, live the story. You can be the characters, and live their lives. you even get to piece your character together according to the descriptions set out by the author, it's wonderful.” I go on to explain waving my free hand as I hold unto my drink with the other. Zayne is watching me by the time I’m done. I smiled, a little embarrassed “I’m sorry, I just really love books” I look away, tucking my hair behind my ear.

Leaving the estate hadn't been easy. Arguing with Cassio definitely hasn't been easy. But I'd done it. And I was glad I did. Eventually, the heavier topics faded away. The mood lightened. The conversation shifted. And I was grateful for that because I wasn't sure I could survive another emotional discussion. "So," Emmy said dramatically. "Can we discuss the movie?" I groaned immediately. The movie we had been forced to watch because of Booktok. We hadn't read the book but just went directly to the movie and it was an absolutely ridiculous movie.

Instead, we choose the movie Eragon. For once, I have to admit that I am not a huge fan of the movie. I read the book at one point and the movie just does not do the book justice. The books were pure genious while the movie was just a little 'bleh'. The story line itself was still pure genious but the way that they made the movie was lacking. I do not see myself watching it again. One good thing that came out of it though, is the fact that I can focus on Dante more instead of focusing on the movie. Snuggling in closer to him, I slowly move my hand up his leg.
