The evidence seemed damning, and the weight of the revelation threatened to crush his spirit. The room, once filled with warmth and the echoes of shared laughter, now bore witness to the tempest within his soul. He couldn't contain the surge of emotions that erupted within him. Broken hearted, he lashed out, hurling objects across the room as if trying to expel the pain that clung to him. "Ahhh! Tessa! Why did you hurt me like this?!" he screamed, the anguished cry reverberating through the empty spaces of their home. Each shattered piece of furniture echoed his broken heart.

He was broken. His voice came out low, dry, cracked like someone that was dying. “This is my punishment.” “For breaking her heart.”

The pain in my voice echoed through the night, a haunting reminder of my shattered dreams and broken heart. The realization hit me like a ton of bricks—our bond was irreparably broken, and no amount of wishing or hoping could change that. As I howled in pain, another howl joined mine, sounding as painful and heartbreaking as my own. Maybe someone else out there was feeling the same heartache as me—a connection in our shared suffering.

Around midnight, a heavy downpour started, he stood in the middle of the street and let the rain wash down on him as if cleansing him from his heartbreak. He found himself in a park, an abandoned park with litters laying every where, he walked to a bench and sat down, the rain still falling on him. The flowers have lost their beauty, they looked rough and crumpled, he watched as some petals fell off with a wave of his hand. He had his first heartbreak at eighteen and now he was receiving his second at twenty one and yet, he hasn't learnt his lesson, it still hurt like the first time.

There was just something so devastatingly beautiful about romantic poetry, I loved it to no end. The idea of loving someone to the point that you yearn for them, their very person, every inch of their skin, every habit of theirs, every peculiar trait is picked, loved and immortalized.

I harshly push him away, "And then my mate came." The words have been buried inside me for too long, festering like an open wound, and now that they’ve started pouring out, I can’t hold them back anymore.
