"Well," she said dryly, swirling the amber liquid with practiced ease, "that went as expected."
Alexander shot her a look sharp enough to cut glass.
"She is like her mother, isn't she, Alexander?" Bratha mused, her peridot eyes tracking the corridor where Nicoli and Bruno had disappeared. The corner of her mouth curved upward in dark amusement. "I sense trouble brewing in paradise, dont you?"
