"Don't say anything, Ray! Just don't!" Steve buried his face, utterly flustered. Damn… Alexander was a fake saint, but Steve truly had the potential to become one. No wonder he seemed so at home in the Zimtam Outpost. Their ideals aligned perfectly. Just then, the man following the footprints of the woman in red finally entered their view. "Ray, someone's coming!" Steve tensed.

I couldn't tell what was going through Bryan's mind, but whatever it was, it wasn't good. "At least answer me," Steve said again, his voice calmer now-but somehow more dangerous. Bryan scoffed. The tension became unbearable. Acting on instinct, I stepped forward and hugged Steve. "It's been a long time," I said softly. I didn't see Bryan's reaction, but I felt the sudden shift in the air-thick, heavy, suffocating. Steve hugged me back, smiling warmly, and for a brief moment, memories of our past rushed in like a tidal wave.

“Why come to me with this? What’s in it for you?” Bucky’s gaze is unwavering. “They promised me retribution for Charmaine’s death. I agreed to their plans, but my loyalty to the pack and the city remains intact. I don’t wish to see your downfall, not at the cost of the city’s destruction. I could hear her message, but I was so lost in her beauty that I couldn't give a reply. "Really??" Hutton raised his brow with a gasp. "That's why Xander and his father, Xavier, wiped away that pack as revenge for putting him in pain from that trap. That's what is written in this letter," she explained and handed the letter to my son, who sneered at her.

It brought me back to that hollow place where my memories once occupied, making me realize that he was part of the memories that were wiped out.
