“I don’t understand,” she started to say when he cut her off, politely at that.
“Just go in, Ms Adams, and make sure to behave yourself.”
Betty wanted to ask when was the last time he had seen misbehave, but she held the thought to herself. If Mr. Butler had made the request, there had to be a reason. No matter how gloomy the man looked all the time, he never did or said anything he didn’t actually mean.
