“Sir?” “I said pull over. Now.” He found a dimly lit side street near the river and killed the engine. The moment the car stopped, I opened the partition fully. “Back here. Now.” There was only a fraction of hesitation before he stepped out and slid into the backseat beside me. The door closed again, sealing us in. The air felt thick like electric. She would caress his face occasionally, and his heart could not help but react to her divine touch. This was the darkest and most difficult part of his life, and he liked to pass through it alone. “Ignore her. Help your Luna.” “I’ll be fine, Ashley.” I kneel in front of Kas. “Kas, can you hear me, sweetie? Are you okay?” Kas looks at me with a concerned look.
