There are too many people around, and if anything happens, his dad is going to skin me alive.”

There’s mumbles of agreement, and Elijah takes over. “Furthermore. We lost our Delta to the Green Forest pack, and although he is an excellent Alpha, that was kind of annoying. Liam could not help but think about the neighboring nations that had been growing increasingly restless lately, stirred up by a few Westernia countries over the past few years. A steely glint shone in his eyes as he spoke, and an icy aura seemed to radiate from him. On the other side of the call, Calum's voice took on a grave tone. "Sir, you can count on me. I've arranged for our people to slip into Drunham City in waves, and I've also reached out to our contacts in the Cole family."

I just looked at Callum, staring at his face, which felt both familiar and strange. I couldn't help but wonder why he was here at Aureotrigon when he was supposed to be under investigation back at Caledoria. Callum stared fixedly at me, then looked at Kai, who was holding me. He didn’t even look at us as he looped the belt of his robe one more time and headed for the back doors. “Workers are on time off.” He threw at us. “Might be back later on.” The words were stiff as I followed, Adam behind me. We got to the pool as I saw how it shimmered and Callum removed his robe and towel and dove into the pool.
