“In Freedonia, a marriage license is required to prepare for a ceremony. Any form of religious or ceremonial event is technically not legally binding,” Kenneth explained. He nudged toward Kirk, saying, “You can ask Kirk. He’s a local.”
“That’s true, Miss King,” Kirk acknowledged.
“Also, if we get married by tomorrow, I can file my taxes as a married man and save about fifty million dollars in taxes this year,” Kenneth added. “So, if you don’t mind, let’s do it tomorrow. The deadline is the following day.”
