The impact echoed like an explosion and the vehicle flipped once, twice, before crashing onto its roof with a brutal, final thud. Time seemed to freeze for a moment, and silence fell. Smoke began to curl from the wreckage, rising slowly into the dark sky. Then gasps and hurried footsteps filled the air as everyone ran towards the car. "Oh my God. There’s someone inside!" one of the men shouted. Through the cracked, blood-smeared window, a woman was visible. A man pushed closer. The woman was slumped awkwardly against what remained of the crushed interior, her body twisted unnaturally. Blood streamed down her forehead, soaking her hair. Her breath came in shallow, ragged gasps.

I hit the dirt, coughing up a mouthful of hot, thick blood. "Is that it?" Vex laughed, stepping into my perimeter, her silver eyes flashing with pure, arrogant dominance. I was dying because of the pain I am feeling right now. Every veins inside me felt like tearing apart, every tear I cried was a lava, and every glance of his cold eyes was like a dagger I couldn't avoid.
