**** [Brad POV] I felt like someone was watching me, and my suspicion is correct. When I turned my head, I saw her. Whoa, she was so beautiful tonight. I didn’t notice that I was dumbfounded staring at her. She avoided my stare. When she looked at me again I smiled. She was wearing a gray illusion off-shoulder evening dress. it suited her, her smooth and white skin exposed. Words couldn’t emphasize her beauty tonight. I lost focus on what we were talking about in front of me because I silently checked Charmane. I just felt Greg pushing me. I looked at him and saw his teasing grin.

Julian was taken aback, even as black tendrils shot out of the ground and wrapped around him in a split second. "No, wait! Let me try again—" Julian screamed, but he was abruptly cut off as the tendrils tightened. A few more seconds later, the tendrils faded, leaving just his robes and another pile of ashes.
