As they continued to talk, I felt like I was witnessing something beautiful unfold.
The way they looked at each other, their genuine interest in each other, it was like watching the first buds of spring push through the snow.
As their conversation deepened, their gazes grew so intense that I felt like I was intruding on a private moment. A mischievous idea popped into my head.
"You know," I said, breaking into their conversation, "I could excuse myself for a few minutes if you two want some time alone." I said, standing up.
Bree's cheeks blushed a delightful shade of pink. "Oh, come on," she said, trying to sound casual. "You're not going anywhere." She protested weakly.
