"Come on, we'll lose them." I wished I had time to stow my backpack, but instead was forced to lug it along, the weight bouncing on my back as Charlotte and I jogged across the Yard and toward Widener Library. I caught sight of the boys passing through between the main building and the smaller side libraries on their way to the street. We reached the busy Massachusetts Avenue just as the pair disappeared down a side street, Holyoke.

Alpha Kael And The Crimson Bloodline

Alpha Kael And The Crimson Bloodline

Something else walked in Ashwood. And so he did what every Mayor had done in times when the balance tipped—he sought out the Order of Ash. --- The library of Ashwood stood at the northern edge of the square, a tall, skeletal building of stone and stained glass. Generations had added their touch: a new wing of shelves here, a bell tower there. Children ran through its doors daily to learn their letters. To most, it was only a place of books. But the Mayor knew better.

Icing The Heart

Icing The Heart

About the way everything had become a threat before it had even had the chance to become a life. Then a radio crackled behind us. “Vehicles ready.” The moment ended. Not broken. Just postponed. Jaxon stepped back. “Stay close,” he said. I looked at him. “Close,” I corrected. His mouth softened. “Close.” *** The library looked smaller in person. That was the first thing that unsettled me. The photograph had made it seem imposing. Tall. Severe. A building that had watched the city change around it and remained unmoved. In reality, it sat on a quiet corner between a closed pharmacy and a narrow public park. Its stone walls were weathered. Ivy climbed along one side. The old bronze lettering abo

Thirty Days Before Goodbye

Thirty Days Before Goodbye

Washington arrived the way new cities always arrived when you were coming to them with intention rather than accident, which was gradually and then entirely, the landscape shifting from highway to suburb to the specific grid and monument-punctuated skyline of a place that had been built to contain significant decisions. The apartment Julian had found was on a tree-lined street in a neighborhood called Capitol Hill, which had the particular quality of a city neighborhood that understood what it was adjacent to and had made its peace with that adjacency. Red brick buildings and good light and a garden-level entry and a window in the study that faced east, which meant morning light, which Julia

Ruth Reginald
This is the kind of story that lingers in your mind long after you close the app. The story deserves far more recognition than it's getting because the author knows exactly how to keep readers emotionally hostage....️

To anyone settling for crumbs of love. I would recommend this story. Natalie proved that losing someone who never valued you isn’t a loss…it’s freedom. One of the most emotionally satisfying stories I’ve read so far. Once again I recommend reading this blockbuster story. Kudos to the author.

HE REJECTED ME AT THE ALTER

HE REJECTED ME AT THE ALTER

About Sable's companion record and the twenty-three northern cities and the three hidden eastern cities and the network's first full multi-city simultaneous contact running through the threshold library. I think about the lavender taller every morning. About the tall plant doing its years of invisible work. About the threshold library's open roof and the sky above it and Neva looking up instead of down and the frequency that was always there waiting for her to look in the right direction. "The same as always," I say. "The next thing," he says. "Yes," I say. "The next thing." He squeezes my hand. We walk through the arch. The city walks with us. It always does.
