My heart sinks as I see Kai lying motionless on the driver's side. Sliding into the car, I move closer to him and softly plead, "Kai, my love, please wake up." His body jolts, and he turns his head in my direction, responding to my voice.

Kai roars, picking Alpha Bastien up by his throat and lifting him in the air. I lay Nova down, and both Konstantin and I run towards Kai, knowing neither of us had the power to stop him if he decides to kill Alpha Bastien right here and now.
