Jax replied with a shrug. “Awww. That nasty bitch shooed away my baby ?” I cooed as I kissed him on the cheek. “Yeah ! And that “Nasty Bitch” is standing right behind you,” Rob said using his dramatic, shrill voice to imitate his Alpha Queen. “Always there when not wanted,” I muttered under my breath. “I heard dat gal,” Rob said. “And you, missy are gonna regret it,” he said before thrusting an envelope in my hand and turning around to exit.

And then I saw them. Kai was standing in the treeline. He wasn't mourning. He wasn't frantic. He was cowering over one of a Beta, which I did not know--a tall, sleek one with a predatory grin. His hand touched her waist, his head was bent down as though he were sniffing her fragrance. No. My mind recoiled. It's a lie. It's a trick. I just saw Ryder and Kai, how could this be? Then the camera panned. Ryder was laughing but tossing a piece of meat to a company of rogues, his arm falling carelessly over a blonde female which was leaning into the warmth of him. He looked... happy. He looked unburdened.

I giggle receiving a glare from him. "Ooh, that sounded so dirty daddy." Rabo said making me laugh harder. He got a hard shove in response. "I like it hard too daddy. Rawr!" Karabo is a whole mood. This guy alone has managed to annoy Khalil within a split second. I could totally learn something from him. "Let's play." I said to Rabo choosing a car. "Oh, we definitely are." K replied. Uh oh.

A few others I recognize from various territories. Then Rob walks in, and my stomach tightens. He sees me and grins, coming over to clasp my hand. “Damon! Good to see you. Thanks again for watching Maya.” “No problem.” The words taste like ash. “She hasn’t stopped talking about you,” he continues, oblivious. “Says you two got along great.” Oh, fuck. “She’s a good kid,” I manage. “She’s not a kid anymore.” Rob sighs, shaking his head. “She’s going to make some wolf very happy someday. Probably sooner than I’d like.”

He chose two people to go first, giving everyone else hope that they wouldn't have to read today. As the one person started to read aloud the biography of their partner, Connor chose to continue his fuckboy act. He placed his hand on my thigh, which resulted in me pushing his arm away. Then he went on to scoot his chair closer to mine, and I figured if I did something about this, I'd get in trouble.

I widened my eyes and opened my mouth to protest, but Robbie silenced me with a finger as he spoke again. „The scent masker will run out soon, and you don’t want her to put her hands on you, Kenzie. I count; you run. I’ll catch up with you after a short time, I promise you, baby girl.” He insisted, and when the tears finally fell, he wiped them with his thumb. I nodded, agreeing with his plan, and he moved slowly to kiss my forehead. There was no other choice; I had to trust him. Robbie slowly crawled out under the big rotten oak and scanned the area. His eyes turned darker as he allowed his wolf to do some reconnaissance.

They got inside the car and Kara drove them out of the place. "Shit! I always knew that guy was up to something. At one glance, I knew that Rob isn't one to be trifled with. He's like a green snake that'll only bite when you're not looking." Kara gripped the steering wheel and increased the car's speed. "Hailey, he didn't do anything to hurt you, right? Did he harm you in any way?" Hailey could not remember Rob harming her. Except for those slaps which he said were to make his parents happy. "I don't think so," she answered.

I was good at one game, an indoor game, chess. I looked back at Robbie, who was speaking fast with someone. I didn't listen to what he was saying, as Robbie's previous words from our conversation were still echoing in my head. I understood that he shares a complex relationship with his dad. They are not on good terms, and Robbie's dad wants him to carry on the legacy. Robbie's love for me is hindering his plans. Maybe that's why his dad hates me. And, out of all the people, Robbie had to fall for a male Omega. I guess that infuriated his dad even more. I wonder if his mother is fine with it!

Nick says once again using a gentle tone that I've very rarely heard from him before. My mate remains quiet for a moment but then she shocks me when she turns her attention to me seeming to silently seek something from me, reassurance maybe. I give her an encouraging nod and want to bang my chest like a wild beast when thankfully she seems satisfied with that as she turns her attention back to Nick. "I'm telling you, Robbie.
