I heard my daughter's sleeping voice next to me, and I quickly shook myself and grabbed her in my arms, hugging her warm body to me.
"It was just a dream, thank Goddess. It was just a bad dream." I repeated to myself, hugging Gemma tightly, kissing her messy head, and sobbing.
The nightmare left me shaken and filled with unanswered questions about its meaning and origin, casting a long shadow of unease over me. I hold my daughter like that for a few more minutes, chasing away the evil thoughts, promising that whatever happens, I will not let anyone take my child away from me.
