The door opened… Young Alpha Riven stood there. Firelight from the courtyard beyond the high glassed window painted his armor in dull gold and shadow. He did not speak at first. He only stepped inside quietly, closing the door behind him. His gray eyes moved over the shadows, the stillness, the emptiness that filled the room. Then they found hers. When he spoke, his voice was calm but there was iron beneath it. Steady enough to lean on. Strong enough to believe. “Alpha Kade did not fall in weakness,” he said. “He did not beg. He did not flee. He stood as an Alpha should… on his feet, with his name unbroken.”
