I tore through the whole thing in a weekend, which says something. The setup hooked me right away—a human forced into a contract marriage with a literal wolf king? It’s pure fantasy romance catnip. That initial tension, the political maneuvering mixed with forced proximity, is done really well. The physical chemistry is off the charts from their first meeting.
Where it might lose some readers is the middle section. The plot relies pretty heavily on miscommunication and secrets to keep them apart, which got a little frustrating. I was like, just talk to each other for five minutes! But if you’re in it for the slow, agonizing burn and the eventual explosive payoff when they finally get past their issues, it’s super satisfying. The loyalty declarations near the end actually made me tear up a bit. It’s not going to reinvent the genre, but it’s a solid, steamy execution of a trope I’ll never get tired of.
