"Oomph," I groaned as I stumbled on my feet. I caught myself before I crashed on the ground but was unable to save the crates of eggs in my hands. Most of them cracked on impact, and only three of them survived with a little scratch. I was in big trouble.

It took me about five minutes to realize I was sitting on My seat on the plane. The seat was turned upside down and appeared to be keeping me from smashing my face into the ground. When blood ran down my face and landed on my hand, I realized I was holding Ria, who was wailing quite loudly. I groaned in agony and clutched Ria's hand tightly. I had no idea how she or I had survived because everything went black when the plane crashed. I took one of my hands off her body, unbuckled, and quickly rolled over so Ria wouldn't fall to the ground. I shielded myself with my hand, and I swear my bone cracked as I hit the ground. "Ouch! " I screamed in agony. Ria continued to sob, and I couldn't tell w

Why couldn’t I get my body to do anything? “It’s collapsing!” A sharp crack filled the air and the group broke apart as one of them was slammed into the building. Another sharp crack filled the air. The brick burst apart as the walls started to collapse. The ground shook as it started to fold. I tried to keep my balance, but the shockwave sent me flying back into another wall. I slumped and barely caught my balance.

He roars in pain and my neck and back began hurting instantly. "KRIS GET UP! SHE'S ABOUT TO LAND ON YOU!" My body goes tumbling onto the ground as Kris lets me go suddenly. I roll over to my side quickly and place my hands on my knees in pain before getting to my feet. A gush of liquid comes running down my leg and at the same time Kris turns around to look at me. Ultimately, after leaving two crooked tire tracks baked into the asphalt, the van managed to squeeze into the emergency lane in front of me and run into the sand pit. The front wheels drove straight into the sand. The rear end of the van was raised in the air, and the van finally slowed to a stop at the edge of the pit. White smoke and a pungent, burned smell billowed from the hood. Billy scrambled out of the shattered window, completely covered in blood. He fell to the ground on his knees, gagging a few times, before looking up and meeting my gaze. He froze for a moment. Then, his eyes lit up.

The burly man staggered backward from the impact, but the other lackeys quickly charged forward. Dakota tried to block them off and fight her way through, but she was easily outnumbered. One man sent a flying kick into her waist, and she collapsed to the ground with a muffled groan. Another grabbed a wooden stick from the ground and struck her back, violently lashing out. Then came a crack in the air. The stick snapped. Dakota didn't give up just yet. She gritted her teeth and used all her strength to crawl toward me. Fresh blood spilled from the corners of her mouth, but her expression carried an indestructible determination.

The landing was not a descent; it was a crash held back by sheer arrogance. The helicopter skids tore into the frost-bitten grass of the cliffside, missing the greenhouse by a mere ten feet. As the rotors began their slow, dying whine, the silence of the Maine coast rushed in—vast, cold, and indifferent to the dramas of men.

"You're a cripple now, so let's see how you're going to fight me now." Suddenly, his hand tilted, and the entire glass of scalding hot milk poured over my arm. A sharp, burning pain exploded through my nerves as I grunted in pain, and my crutch slipped from my grip. I lost balance and crashed heavily to the floor. A searing agony ripped through my leg, and cold sweat from pain soaked my back. But what broke me more was the music box that tumbled from my arms and clattered onto the floor with a crisp crack.
