It was a chaotic drawing of what appeared to be a castle, a dragon, and a stick figure with what looked suspiciously like spiky hair. “Is that Uncle Aurelian?” she asked gently. Tray gasped. “How did you know?” She leaned closer, lowering her voice conspiratorially. “Because only a very important knight would have hair that sharp.” Tray beamed. Tracy shoved her own drawing forward. Hers was softer—flowers, a house, and what appeared to be three figures holding hands. “Who are they?” Mercy asked carefully. “That’s Daddy,” Tracy said. “And Mommy.” She pointed to the third figure.

Chapter thirty-three Anabelle Pov The hall was noisy, the moderators were discussing with each other. While other members were whispering. I couldn't think about the noise. I closed my eyes and started mapping out the drawing found. I drew the mountains first, filling it with amber color, the mountain was filled with different giant trees. After properly drawing the mountain I drew the moon-bird. It was so fine to my eyes, I couldn't believe I was able to draw the same art work and it was better than the previous one.

Kabir asked, placing his hands gently on Kavish's shoulders. Kavish looked up, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "I'm making a family drawing, Daddy! See!" He proudly turned the paper toward Kabir, revealing a colorful array of bear-like figures, each one distinctly different in size. Above each bear, he had written names with arrows pointing to their respective figures: Edhaa, Kavish, Mumma, and Daddy. Kabir's heart swelled with warmth as he took in the artwork. "Wow! Breaking all the crockery kind of helped, huh?" he chuckled, a smile spreading across his face.

He climbed onto the sofa beside her and opened the notebook. Crayon lines filled the page. Bright colors. Simple shapes. But the drawing was recognizable. Three stick figures stood side by side beneath a large sun. Evelyn had seen similar drawings from him before. Usually the same three figures. A woman. A child. And a tall man with darker shading around the eyes. Silas held the notebook proudly. “Do you like it?” Evelyn forced a soft smile. “It’s beautiful.” He studied the picture carefully. Then pointed to the tallest figure.

A man, there is a girl in the middle of them and a woman holding hands. Well, I assume that the two in the drawing are women because they have skirts. Of course, who else are these three. It's Kenzo, Yelena and Marga. Their family drawing made by Yelena. I looked at his other drawings, there are mountains and then in the middle is the sun and I think the flower farm below him is the water color used in the drawing. There are also other drawings that look like the three of them again, but the same colors were used in the drawing.

I ran my thumb over the photo, tracing her face gently. “God… who are you and are you so beautiful?” I whispered without meaning to. A folded piece of paper sat underneath. I picked it up, unfolded it carefully. It was a drawing — a childish one — done by a child of probably six years old, with colored pencils, the edges already yellowed from age. It showed three stick figures, hand in hand: a tall man with dark hair, a beautiful woman beside him, and a little boy with silver hair and grey eyes, a smaller girl beside him, with a big red heart between them.

"Nicole, this is my birthday present for you! Happy birthday! I hope you stay pretty every day." Nicole took it, already smiling, but paused after a closer look. Something about it felt…off. "What did you draw?" she asked. There were circles, triangles, and rectangles all over the page. It looked a little abstract. Then again, Poppy was five. Expectations had to stay realistic. Poppy leaned in to explain. "This is Zeph, this is you, this is me, and this is Cola. We're all holding hands and living happily in the same house."

"What will we draw?" "You will draw something or someone that means a lot to you, Danae. And once you are done each one of you will show and tell a story about your drawing with the rest." Good job.” I cheered, and he beamed with pride. “Mine next.” Michael shoved his drawing into my hand, and I took his and Leon’s. They were similar to Nathan’s work, but Michael’s was more wonky, and the height difference was less dramatic. Leon’s drawing was the neatest, with a big red heart around us.
