Project Heartbreak
“But for the record, your laugh is now my new favorite sound.”
My heart felt so full I thought it might burst. “You say the cheesiest things.”
“You’re beautiful when you laugh.”
The words, so simple and sincere, stole my breath all over again. I looked down, suddenly shy. “You don’t have to say things like that.”
“I know I don’t have to,” he said, tilting my chin up so I had to meet his gaze. His eyes were soft, the green warm and deep. “I want to.” He brushed a stray piece of hair from my forehead. “I want to make you laugh every day. I want to kiss you and annoy you until you can’t stand it.”
