Charlotte's POV There was a time when I used to dream about the future with Layson. I would imagine if we had a daughter, I'd spoil her into the happiest little princess alive, and she'd be forever safe from harm. If we had a son, I wanted him to be as strong as Layson, inheriting his father's glory. I drew countless portraits of those children and imagined how they would look one day. But when I timidly offered those drawings to Layson, he never looked at them. He tore them up and threw them into the fireplace. He told me in the coldest tone that he could have children with anyone but never with me. He told me to stop daydreaming.

There was a reason that Grant had to go overseas and there was a reason that his father didn’t have a wife, but had two sons. All the signs were there that his life wasn’t sunshine and roses, but then again, I didn’t expect things like that for those born into power. I watched enough dramas and saw enough on the news to know that there would always be a power struggle and those who held the power would have to be on their toes. I want to be his safe space. I think as Grant shifts our position so that I’m straddling his lap. I want to at least be that. “Grant,” I murmur, beginning to move my hips. “You can lean on me.”

“Not unless I catch you.” Then his mouth claimed mine again, hotter this time, more demanding, and my hands curled into the sheets as his palm slid down, and in between my legs, teasing me. I gasped into his kiss when his fingers gripped the lace at my hip, tugging it down just enough for his knuckles to touch my bare skin. And then his teeth grazed my throat, his hand sliding lower, and finding my clit which was now throbbing. “Now spread your legs, princess. Daddy’s not asking twice.”

It was either that or gossiping about their married kids. “He’s so handsome, tell her Tony.” “I don’t like him.” I laughed at my dad’s comment. He didn’t like any men as soon as they were interested in me. “Tony, stop it. Come on, tell her!” My mom turned to look at me so earnestly I had to look serious. “Patricia said he works in oil and gas…” she pursed her lips to contain her excitement. “That means he’s loaded, Sierra.” “Seriously, mom?”

“If only I could tell the boys at the office about you.” My heart wants to sink, and it does a little, but I don’t let it go far. We’re going to have a nice dinner and nothing’s going to spoil that. “Yeah? They’d like me?” “Oh, without question.” Daddy chuckles. “Especially Mark. With all the problems he’s been having with his wife, Tiffany, lately?” “What problems?” Daddy just shrugs. “He’s sure she’s cheating on him—she’s sure he’s cheating on her.” He just waves a hand in the air. “It’s a whole big mess.”

"Baby, no. Daddy would never..." "But what if he does?" Tears streamed down his face now. "Before you married Daddy, I didn't have a daddy. And all the other kids did. And I was scared I'd never have one. And then Daddy came and he was perfect and he loves me and..." His voice broke completely. "What if he stops?" I pulled him into my lap, holding him tight. "Gio, listen to me. Daddy loves you so much. That will never, ever change. Do you understand?"

These assholes don’t have the right to say anything to me. “Hey, it’s Daddy!” laughs Kye. “You gonna let him put it in your ass tonight?” “Yes,” I hiss, all the rage I feel coming to the surface. “I am.” I pout, batting my eyelashes, and speak in a little girl voice. “I let my daddy fuck me all the time, because you know why, Kye?” I straighten my shoulders and look him dead on. “Because he makes me come so hard, with his big, man’s dick, and I can’t get enough of it. He’s not some little boy who doesn’t know what he’s doing. He doesn’t have to fumble in basements or apologize to parents when he gets caught with his dick out. He’s a man. And he’s amazing.”

After dealing with those two idiots who didn't know their place, Terrence turned to me, his tone becoming respectful immediately. "Haha, Henry…" Terrence rubbed his hands, an awkward smile on his face. "I'm sorry for causing you all this trouble. I failed as a father, and let my daughter make you unhappy… "Look, I've already scolded them, so can we just… let this go? Let bygones be bygones?" Before I could say anything, Joyce blew up.

Did she put a charm on him? "This has to stop Stella. I never fucked you and I don't want to ruin your future, you're a bright kid", he says as he takes another step away from me like I'm someone he is scared of.
