He had messy brown hair, a relaxed smile, and he was completely, effortlessly normal.
"Hey," I said, sitting up a little straighter.
"I'm Jake," he smiled, stepping a little closer.
"I'm Harper," I replied, actually offering a small smile back.
"Nice to meet you, Harper," Jake said smoothly. "Sorry to bother you, but my family is set up just past those trees. We completely forgot to pack matches, and my dad is currently losing his mind trying to start a fire with two rocks."
