"It's not time to go home," Santo simply stipulates once I join him in the car. I reapply lipstick while looking at myself with my cell phone camera: "Why does it matter if we arrive at 3:50 or 4:00?" I reply. Santo tenses up and then turns his head towards me. Merda. He just noticed. I see his eyes light up as he notices the red marks on my thighs, wrists, and throat: "Did Elio do this to you?" he whispers darkly.

Letting go of Samantha’s hand, I watch as she positions herself on the chair before I move closer so I can stand next to her. “Great,” Dante murmurs. “I was told you want a tattoo of shaded bricks with a flower growing out of them.” Samantha nods. “And I want the words ‘stronger than ever’ over the bricks as if it’s graffiti.” Dante nods, then asks, “Where do you want the tattoo?” Her features tighten, and she looks more nervous than usual as she gestures at her side. When I realize it will be a couple of inches beneath her breast, there’s a burst of jealousy in my chest because Dante will be working close to what I consider mine.

My heart began beating rapidly, causing a ringing in my ears. “ Drums down heart. We need the money.” When the doors slid open, I almost bolted. But I didn't. Running won't feed me or bring back my mother's jewelry. Dante stood at the windows like he owned the world which, let’s be honest, he probably did. I mean, he is Dante Moretti after all. He was wearing a black shirt, its sleeves rolled up, veins lined his forearms as well as a snake tattoo. He has broad shoulders. And an ass that could make a nun reconsider her vows. When he turned, his gaze snapped me out of lustful thoughts.

she said, then disappeared down the hallway. “Patin?” Cassandra called out, reaching for the door. She knocked, once, twice, three times, nothing. She held the door handle and twisted it open, announcing “I'm coming in,” She opened the door to an empty room. For a brief moment, she took in the luxurious interior. Just then, the bathroom door hissed open, steam spilling into the room. Dante stepped out, his body bare with only a white towel strapped to his waist. His hair was wet, the water dripping down his body. A dark, coiling serpent tattoo stretched from his right arm across his chest, its scales seemed to glisten in the light.

Dante sat up on the bed, pushing the sheets off his body. Mireille turned to face him and found him seated and leaning against the headboard. His upper body was bare and Mireille noted that it was the first time she would be seeing more than his veiny hands. His body was inked and covered in tattoos. Some of the tattoos were tiny and some were bigger. There was barely any uninked skin left on his upper body. And right on his abs was a tattoo of a beautiful crown. The tattoo looked beautiful and for a second, Mireille wanted to run her fingers over that tattoo.

The tattoo that once symbolized our love had been completely covered by her family's crest. Just like my mark on his life was being erased, piece by piece. "Isn't it beautiful?" Isabella had appeared beside me. She raised her wine glass, a victorious smile on her face. "Did you see it? The tattoo," she continued. "Dante told me it was an impulsive mistake from his youth. It's finally been corrected." I clenched my fists, my nails digging into my palms.

This was not like the others. Though diminished, the razor-sharp power remained. Lean muscle, inked skin, and dark tattoos that stretched across his back and curled down his ribs covered his entire body. He was permanently marked with a map of sins. When he saw me staring, he grinned. "As you observe?" I leaned against the counter and scoffed. "You drink this early every time?" Dante sipped the glass slowly and then put it down. "You stare this much all the time?" Fuck.

But colder. Marble floors. Black silk curtains. A four-poster bed with blood-red sheets. And a single glass of dark liquor waiting on the bedside table. There were no flowers. No champagne. No welcome. Just Dante. He stood near the window, back to me, jacket now off, shirt sleeves rolled up to reveal forearms inked in sharp, sprawling tattoos. The kind of ink that told stories you weren’t allowed to ask about. I didn’t speak. Neither did he. He turned slowly, glass in hand, eyes traveling down the length of me. Not with desire. Not even curiosity. It was more like an evaluation.

Once the elevator opened once more, I walked into the second floor of the apartment building, which belonged to Dante, and I didn't dare venture further in my current state. Dante emerged from one of the apartments, a phone pressed to his ear as he paced slightly. His white shirt, half-heartedly pulled on with one hand, hung loosely, revealing a red-inked tattoo that adorned his bare skin. With his red hair and fair complexion, he was the tamer version of Leonardo but they all shared that dangerous air around them, especially when they were pissed.

I tell him and went into the kitchen. I prepared two cups of hot chocolate and went to the laundry for a pair of black sweat pants and a white shirt. The shirt belongs to Felix but the pants is from Marielle Corp. I went back to the living room and almost dropped everything I was holding in my hands. There he was,Dante was standing there naked . I gulped and turn red,I couldn't take my eyes off him. He has gotten more tattoos on her torso up to his chest. His right chest has Ireal's name engraved in wings.
