I turn my face to the side to look at him and breath raggedly as he continues his sweet torture. They had taken her out of the darkroom, cleaned her thoroughly, now they were taking her blood for samples; it could only mean one thing, she would sleep with the monster soon. The mere thought of that man touching her sent shivers down her spine; when she had agreed to be his wife in place of her sister, this part did not occur to her. she just thought that since this man wanted to punish her for her father’s debt he was not going to be interested in consummating the so called marriage. Let’s walk into death smiling.” Luka gave him a light shove, and some of the tension in the air broke.

I hissed, my grip tightening until I felt the bone beneath. The Shadow smiled, and it was a slow, terrifying expression that made my skin crawl. "Then kill me, Darius, but remember we're linked. If I die, she dies. If I bleed, she bleeds. That’s the beauty of the Overwrite. You didn't just bond with her, you bonded with the Shadow that lives behind her."

I could feel the vibrations of malevolence touching my soul, evoking fear and caution. Walking through the scorching sands, my bloodline's calling led me toward that darkness. Until finally, beyond the dunes of the desolate land, I found him. A malevolent sorcerer oozing darkness from every pore, his black eyes gleaming with thirst for power. He stared at me with eyes full of hatred, a wicked smile playing on his lips. "So, you are the mate of that Alpha," he said with a raspy voice, his tone piercing through my heart. "I know about the promise you made with him. But I will rip it from you, with blood and darkness."
