Nash drapes one arm over me and holds me close. “You had a claiming mark,” Nash says, running a thumb over the spot near my collarbone where Caleb sank his teeth when we first mated. “I did,” I say. “You were a Luna,” Nash continues. “I was.” We’re silent for a bit, and then I speak up again. “He died. My mate. My Alpha.” Nash murmurs sympathetically, but he doesn’t say anything. I find that more comforting than if he had tried to come up with words.

“Alpha, I found out that Ryan finally has a weakness.” “Really? What is it?” The Alpha thought it might be something useless since Ryan had absolutely no weakness.” He closed his eyes back again, uninterested. “Ryan has finally met his Luna.” Blake told him. The Alpha’s eyes shot open. He turned his head to Blake. “Luna, you said?” he asked him. “Yes Alpha.” Blake replied. I would kill every single person and their entire family, and destroy all they love. And that was what I was doing. I would take down every single fort and hiding place. Shaiza had been very careful and smart, it was tacky tracing him down and it seemed like with each pack we raided he went into hiding in another. Alpha Logan couldn't hide his surprised look. "Is that what you want?" "Yes! I just want her dead; I don't like her existence. She disgusts me. I hate her so much with passion. Since she stepped her filthy feet into this pack, it has been from one trouble to the other. Coupled with the fact that she is your mate makes things worse. Just end her once and for all!" Kara screamed and began breathing heavily.

I wasn't disappointed that he had come to see me, but I would have been happier if it was the Alpha who was sitting here in his place. Liam laughed. “Worry not, Lydia. I'm not offended at all. It's only normal for you to want to be around your mate, instead of someone else. I can understand that” he stated, and I deadpanned. “D…did you just say, mate?” I stuttered, wondering if I was already starting to hear things. I didn't think the alpha would tell anyone that I was his mate, so it would be very surprising for me if the beta knew about it.

I take a step back, my heart racing with fear, as Lucien's words wash over me like a cold wave. The priest's eyes dart to Caleb, and he hits him on the shoulder, his expression grave. "Caleb, if Lucien Veyrien Hale says she's his mate, there's nothing we can do. You should just let her go to him. Do you want to face the wrath of the Alpha of the Crescent Ridge Pack?" The priest's voice drops to a whisper, and he glances around the room nervously. "She’s not worth it. You know what he's capable of, Caleb. He's ruthless, merciless. He'll stop at nothing to get what he wants. And if he says Aria is his mate, we'll be lucky if he doesn't destroy our entire pack to get her."

I growl, "Because I knew something like this would happen. No, Eros doesn't know I'm his mate, he doesn't know anything about me and I want to keep it that way. I know many Alphas made their son reject their mates as soon as they found out their mates were human. I lay in my bed realizing that the things that once were important, is no longer important. I don't care about the Alpha title anymore. I just want my mate by my side for now and forever. Then it hit me. I will never reject her but what if she rejects me. What if she really loves this other human?
