His gaze was empty as he stared at the distant neon lights, his profile under the dim streetlamp looking frail and defeated. In the background, across the street, the LED screen faintly showed a news clip of Lextron Technology’s conference. My face appeared clearly on the screen. The sender was anonymous.

One afternoon, he leaned back in his chair, watching Daniel work. “She’s been watching you,” Liam said. Daniel didn’t glance up. “She’s not the first.” “She’s the Creative Director,” Liam pressed. “That’s different.” Daniel’s lips curved slightly. “Not really.” Liam studied him. “So what are you going to do about it?” “Nothing.” “Nothing?” Daniel shrugged. “I don’t give her the power to matter.” Liam smirked. “You always make it sound so simple.” “It is,” Daniel said, returning to his screen. “If you know who you belong to.”

✿ CHAPTER 12 ✿ LEONARD'S POV "Bro…I've been on my knees for hours," My close friend Daniel begged me to accompany him to the shopping mall to buy a present for his wife. "You call barely 20 minutes, hours?" I rubbed my temples "Bro, it's just a present for my wife, I just need someone to go with me, I won't take too much of your time, okay?" I sighed. Professor Ryan caught my eye over the kid's head; his expression seemed to say, "What can you do?" Daniel poked his head in the door just as Professor Ryan was saying, "I hope we're not causing too much of an imposition on your time. I simply can't resist the chance to show off one of our more successful alumni." I shrugged off his flattery. "As a matter of fact, you have more than one alum working here tonight. I've met another of your pupils working on this production. Daniel," I raised my voice, "come in, say hello to the Professor. Class, this is Daniel Lewis, our assistant stage manager. He's the power keeping us all in line behind the scenes."

Without saying a word, Dean stepped toward me, glaring at her in anger. "How dare you speak to my Luna that way? Don't you realize the punishment that awaits you?" Inside we head towards Daryl’s office and Jordan knocks. “Enter” I push open the door to see Daryl sat in his office chair, but he wasn’t alone. A man that was a similar age to Daryl was sat opposite him, his green eyes on me. A scar ran down his left cheek and his blonde hair was shaven in a buzz cut. “You must be Luna Ashley. Well Alpha Daryl, you certainly kept this pretty thing hidden” Shit, was he going to challenge Daryl for me.

"I don't know about you, but I don't think all of us combined could have pulled that offed, especially since it was a snipper." "Who are you?" Leon gritted out "Daniel Dante. The district attorney for criminal law." He introduced himself. "If you'll excuse me, I'd like to take my client, please take the handcuffs off" Danielle directed his words to Delores who reached forward and took off the handcuffs. I glanced back at Diane who seemed to be closed off in her corner, She had not said anything since the whole circus had begun and didn’t even bat an eye or lol in my direction.

Compared to Archie's cheerfulness, Xavier was a storm cloud! "It's you!" If Xavier still didn't know who was messing with him at the moment, he would be completely confused!
