Don't Say You Love Me
Seeing that I had turned around and was about to leave, Elliot rushed forward, grabbing my wrist before pulling me into his arms.
His grip was strong; I couldn't break free. All I could do was let him hold me.
Then, he cried. I could feel his scalding tears falling onto my shoulder.
After a long silence, his trembling voice broke through. "Holly, I was such a fool. It took me this long to realize I love you, but it's too late. I know we can never go back to the way we were before. Holly, believe me—I love you. You are and always will be my wife."
