BOUND TO THE BEAST

I left him there in his office, alone with his whiskey and his twisted version of love.
When I got back to my new room, I was exhausted. Emotionally drained. But also oddly energized. I had a plan. A goal. Something to fight for. I pulled back the covers on my bed, ready to finally sleep.
And froze. There, on my pillow, was a small dead bird. Its neck was broken, its wings spread out like it had been trying to fly.
