The Moon Chose Me Twice
The line goes dead.
"She bought it," I whisper.
"She didn't buy it," Kaleb says, climbing through the window into the cab as Hollen slows down. "She just doesn't care. She thinks she’s untouchable."
"She’s about to find out she’s wrong," Hollen mutters, shifting gears.
The truck groans as we turn onto the old logging road.
We reach the cave mouth ten minutes later. The hijacked transport truck is still there, covered in brush, a dark behemoth sleeping in the shadows.
