Death's Day

Death's Day

If it ever did, he would dismiss it as a mere gossip. Marcus continued staring through the windows as the greenery rushed past them, while he turned back inwardly to something that was troubling his soul. His mind told him he had made a mistake. His ego told him that what he did was right. It was not every day that one got to deal with a witch, even if it was a little boy. That wouldn’t have been a problem if he had not nearly choked because the boy, Jason was looking at him. Dean had died soon after. Problem was he didn’t know how powerful the boy was.

The Game

The Game

Emerson IsabellagameGamer
I was wrong. I struggled to snap out of the depression my heartbreak had sent me spiraling into thanks to that silly little game. Drake's cruel words calling me a silly little girl still hurt for months but that was nothing compared to the pain that awaited me six months later. Wolves are strong and live much longer than humans usually, but a group of rogues attacked our pack and all the adults fought just as they were trained to do. My mom was among those fighting. She was strong and came from an alpha bloodline, not just any bloodline but a particularly strong and old alpha line from Italy. She was one of our fiercest warriors and as such she was on the front lines of battle. There were to

Impermissible Desires!

Impermissible Desires!

This sort of series always seemed to provide her with peace, most times. However, her tranquil moment was wrecked when she witnessed an unexpected kiss between the drama's main characters. Frustration suddenly welled up inside her, and with a huff, she shut off the TV. Determined to channel her anger into something productive, Isabelle decided to indulge in her favourite video game, Death's Arena. She couldn't help marvelling at the game's banner as the game loaded. She could see a dark-skinned man holding two giant swords suffused with lightning, his eyes were fully white.

Death Is Where You’re Missing

Death Is Where You’re Missing

“Without you, every day is unbearable. “Cece, I’m sorry for hurting you. But I loved you. I still do. “I once prayed to God, begging Him to let you live. And if you didn’t, I asked Him to take me with you. He heard my prayer.” I could no longer speak. Tears streamed down my face. Love made people foolish. It could make someone lose their sense of self. Maybe this was the best ending for us. I reached out and held his hand after stealing one last glance at him. The rhythmic beeping echoed through the room. Then, it stretched into one long, unbroken sound. As it did, we both closed our eyes. I felt weightless. I felt as if I was floating. When I saw Lily bawling as she held me, I knew I was al

System Of Blood: To Crave Survival

System Of Blood: To Crave Survival

"None of it existed before the first player transmigrated. It was created for the game. Built from collective unconscious, archetypal fears, whatever metaphysical force powers this thing. It feels real because it is real while the game is active. But it's not permanent." I sat back, mind reeling. "What happens to players who die in the game?" "They wake up in their original world. Usually traumatized, sometimes better, always changed by the experience. The game marks them as completed players and moves on." He paused. "Unless they die as the final boss. Then they just... end. No return. No second chance. That's the price of the role." "So if I kill you," "I'm dead permanently. The game ends.

Rule Number 1: Never fall in love with him

Rule Number 1: Never fall in love with him

He was staring at me with wide, shocked eyes. "Maya?" he whispered. "What are you doing here?" Before I could answer, a crackling speaker came to life above us. [WELCOME TO THE SURVIVAL GAME] [Congratulations, you are all dead! But considering the greenhouse effect, hell is on recycle mode right now, so you are being sent to dead worlds, as entertainment! Please, provide the fanciest death you can, for the audience!] “What audience?!” Damian asked, but nobody, well, no dead body on the bus is in a mood to answer him.

His moment would not last Because I still had one more blade to play, and Matthias was very skilled at making deaths look like accidents. The game was far from finished.

It could make you blind. Me: Delete this whole thread, Dean. Now. I space out my words, trying to bury the image so he won’t see it when he opens the text. Me: Don’t Me: Even Me: Look Me: Just Me: Delete Archer: What are you doing? Me: Burying the image. OMG OMG Archer: So you don’t want me to screenshot it and send again? Me: NO I set my phone down, laughing to keep from crying. Sucking it up, I call Dean. His phone rings. And rings. And rings.

Death Wish

Death Wish

Death and I asked at the same time before glaring at each other, but the goddesses seemed to gush over the dumb moment "Your staring," Death says "I was just wondering to myself how someone could possibly be so ugly," I lied, narrowing my eyes at him It was those stupid eyes He chuckled, "And yet you just admitted it was my eyes," He can read my mind? My lips purse as my cheeks heat up and I look away as I swim in between Hera and Demeter, "Telling me you could read my thoughts should have happened at the beginning, like when you met me. Have you ever heard of privacy?" I asked but cut him off before he said anything, "Oh, of course not because you were standing in my fucking mirror while I

The Underworld Trials of Luna

The Underworld Trials of Luna

“Now you keep those little fangs away and play this game like the demure Princess you should be.” He begins to turn now and I tuck my hands behind my back, my nails pressed so tight to my palms that I wouldn’t be surprised to feel blood trickling from my fists. “Or else,” Death continues, perfectly casual, glancing at me over his shoulder. “There are…others in your line that could take your place in this Game. Are there not?” I gasp, taking a horrified step towards him, my teeth flashing. But no – he can’t mean –

awesome continuity... please if you continue for the other characters, show it in the description like you did for the book 2. there's another book with the same names of Ellie and Dominic and I was confused. I really hope there's a Rafe and Mark book.

The story-line carried well throughout the entire book until the ending. The ending seemed abrupt, rushed and lacked content/drama that could have been built for additional spin offs and left too many things unaddressed.
