His hand was splayed against her back, and she could feel the warmth of his skin through the fighting gear.
"Yes. We should...go—" Maddie whispered, eyelids fluttering as his scent hit her nostrils. Incense, she thought, the pure, scented smoke from candles. And underneath that, her nose caught the sharp tang of metal and the bitter sulphuric smell of demons. The smell that seemed to trail every single Hunter she'd met.
Weirdly, she liked it.
Perhaps it was her attraction to Jason, or perhaps it was the Hunter in her being in sync with him, but syncing had never filled her with so much desire to lean up and kiss a guy before.
